On October 3, 2024, the unveiling of the monument to Count Władysław Zamoyski took place in the square at Poznańska and Poprzeczna streets in Kórnik.

The idea to erect the two-meter-tall monument came from the Kórnik “Ogończyk” Association. This project was made possible thanks to the involvement of the local community and a number of institutions.

Komet Sp. z o.o. was one of the companies that supported this project.

Count Władysław Zamoyski was a Polish social activist and founder of the Kórnik Works. During the partition period, he was a key figure in Greater Poland and all of Poland. After being forced to leave Kórnik, he resided in Podhale. He contributed, among other things, to the incorporation of Lake Morskie Oko into Poland and the creation of the Tatra National Park on its lands.

The Senate of the Republic of Poland has declared 2024 the Year of Władysław Zamoyski. The Poznań County Council and the Kórnik City and Commune Council have also dedicated this year to his memory.
